Going for gold this autumn

It’s been a great couple of months for medals for Yorkshire. Did you know that Yorkshire athletes won 31 medals in total at the Olympics and Paralympics. We picked up 17 medals at the Olympics and 14 medals at the Paralympics. We’re hoping the good luck continues for us on the food stage, with a flurry of award ceremonies taking place throughout October and November. We’ll be swapping the wellies for dancing shoes as we cross our fingers at 4 different award finals this October/November.

We’re honoured to be representing Yorkshire nationally at the Rural Business Awards in October. The award celebrates the Great British countryside, championing the achievements of rural businesses, with anything from engineering companies to food producers nominated. We’re incredibly lucky to have such rich and diverse food in Yorkshire and it’s a privilege to be able to champion our local producers and farmers nationally. As we say, you simply can’t beat Yorkshire food!

We’ll also be doing our best to top the Yorkshire table at the Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards, the White Rose Awards and Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards

Whatever the outcome, these nominations are fantastic news. We’re very lucky to have an exceptionally dedicated team making sure the food we love finds its way to you every day – no mean feat when we work with more than 400 local producers and farmers, so our thanks go out to our exceptional team for a fantastic summer and also to you, our customers, for believing in what we do and supporting us every day.

Join us and cross your fingers for a lucky autumn!

Thank you all,

Victoria & James
