The Big Easter Eat Together

Easter is a time for getting together with family and friends, enjoying a delicious roast dinner, hunting for eggs, having fun with your little ones and eating chocolate until you burst!

We are here to help. By following our guide you can’t help but have a wonderful Easter!

Start your mornings with a delicious breakfast to help fuel you through all of the fun. A full English would be a great start to your day. If you would like an easy option our hot cross bun loaf, with it’s delicate blend of mixed spices and dried fruit, makes the perfect Easter toast.

Next comes the main event. The best way to celebrate Easter is with a special Easter roast. We have everything you need to help you to cook your feast to perfection. Our butchers will be happy to help you to choose your perfect joint and we have recipes for Mustard & Rosemary Crusted Leg Of Lamb and Honey & Mustard Glazed Gammon in the recipe section of our website.

We can also help with all of the accompaniments. Our locally sourced fresh vegetables are a great addition to any roast dinner. We have some fantastic recipes too including; Potatoes Gratin, Spring Peas & Bacon and Marmalade Glazed Carrots. We apologise for making you hungry!

From the 24th March - 2nd April (excluding Easter Sunday when we will be closed), we will be holding a free Easter Egg Hunt. There will also be appearances from Oscar & Felix, our very own Easter Bunnies, on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday. Listen out for their special music which plays when they are about to pop up. More details, including appearance times can be found here.

The Easter Egg Hunt will take place daily from 10am - 4pm. Oscar & Felix, are very forgetful and they have trouble remembering what their favourite game is. We are asking the children to help jog their memories by solving the clues and finding the hidden eggs with letters on which spell out their favourite game. When they have solved the clues and unscrambled the letters they will win a prize.

We also have everything you need to hold your own Easter Egg Hunt at home. Take a look in Home & Garden at Thornton and the Events Barn at Skipton for signs, colourful eggs and more.

Speaking of colourful eggs, we have been having lots of fun dyeing eggs naturally. Using things that you would find in your kitchen cupboards and bits that you would normally throw away, you can create some beautiful eggs. Here is how to do it.

We have a great range of Easter craft items in our shops too. Pipe cleaners, feathers, stickers and wonderful Easter bonnets waiting to be decorated.

We are determined to not let the recent wintry weather stop us! The opening of our Animal Croft may have been delayed slightly but we have created an indoor one instead. Come and visit our lambs, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs & quails in our Indoor Animal Croft.

Easter is the perfect opportunity to treat your loved ones. We have a range of locally handmade chocolates including these adorable animal eggs from Sugar Therapy. They are almost too charming to eat.

We also have a delightful range of plush bunny rabbits that are sure to bring a smile to a little one’s face. After all, there is no problem that can’t be solved by a hug from a giant bunny.

Gorgeous spring blooms will brighten up someone’s day too. Whether it’s a beautiful bouquet, a planted arrangement or some spring bulbs to nurture and grow, flowers are the perfect way to show someone that you care.

If you don’t want to say it with flowers, why not say it with beer. Our chocolate beer is the perfect Easter tipple. We also have gift boxes available with either 2 or 5 bottles.

We hope you have a very Happy Easter!
